My cycle is always 26 days long. We'll this morning I realized I'm 5 days late so I tested 3 times and got the same result every time pregnant. I'm so excited I could literally die, we've been trying for 8 years. Anyway here's my concern. I ovulated on the 25th/26th so I won't go into what happened those two days lol, anyway right after I got a severe UTI. This happened over a weekend so I tried Azo well it didn't help a bit so Monday the 30th I called my dr. and he put me on bactrim for 7 days. So heres the question, could bactrim make me have 3 false pregnancy tests? And if I am pregnant will it hurt the baby? Please help I've not slept yet cause I'm too excited and nervous about these concerns.
Thanxs, Amy

Congrats!  Discontinue use of the antibioti****il you speak with the staff at the office.  Let them know you believe you are pregnant and are concerned if the Bactrum is safe.  (I think it is one they try to avoid).  However, I know certain UTI are resistant to meds, so some have to be used.  However, I think Bactrum is one of the general ones they use.  I know during my pregnancy I had a really bad URI-and had to change meds because I was pregnant.  The office was great about it no issues.  And no the antibiotics should have nothing to do with your positive reading- They will tell you that positive home pregnancy tests are just as good as office tests.  They were hysterical at the office when I explained I took 5 test - all positive and still said "I might be pregnant".  (Hey- I had fertility issues and was never able to get pregnant before).  Good luck!

Congrats I would say your pregnant. I don't see why the meds would give you a false positive. Congrats!!!

i'm no expert but no medicine other than fertility meds with hcg in them can give you a false reading.  So congrats!  Bactrim is a class C drug so it should be avoided.  But I looked it up on safefetus.com and it said it's most dangerous in the 3rd trimester.  So just stop taking it, I sure you and your baby will be ok!  Congrats!

I wouldn't stress it too much. I was told that the baby has it's own food source until week 12. Strangly enough that's when most morning sickness stops. Good luck with the UTI and I would say Congrats!
